To check the immigration or overstay fine online, there are two websites called GDRFA  and ICP. This applies to visa cancellation cases also. For the visa penalty payment online in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and UAE, one could use ICP website and ICA website.

How to check UAE visa fine online?

In order to check UAE overstay fine status as well as visa cancellation fine status, there are 2 online services. Residence visa copy or file number, passport number and date of birth are required for checking UAE overstay fine. 

Regardless of which Emirate issued the visa, you can visit the websites of any of two immigration departments- GDRFA website and ICP website to check for overstay fines. These online platforms help to track and enquire about the visit, resident and other overstay fines.

Immigration fine enquiry through GDRFA in Dubai

The "Fines Inquiry” service on the GDRFA (The General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs) website allow you to check visa penalty, if it was issued in Dubai. To check your Dubai visa fine status online through GDRFA website, please follow the steps below:

  • Visit the GDRFA website
  • Scroll down to select “Fines Inquiry”
  • Select File Number from Search type
  • Choose the File type- Resident or Permit
  • Cite the requested details
  • Verify that “I’m not robot”.
  • Press the "Submit" button.
The details of your overstay penalty will be visible to you.

How to check overstay fine details for residents and visitors?

You can check the visit or resident visa status of Abu Dhabi and can also pay the fine online with ICP website. Keep in mind that for resident and visitor, the details entered are different. The procedure includes:

  • Check out the ICP website
  • Select "Public Services"
Scroll down and Press on the “Start Service” for ‘FINES – PAY FINES – VIOLATIONS OF ENTRY PERMISSIONS OR RESIDENCES – PAY NEW FINE’

Now opens a page where you need to fill the information. For residents and visitors, there are different steps involved.

If you are a resident, fill in these details:

  • Select the ‘file number’.
  • Enter the file number. The file number can be found on the passport page that contains your UAE resident visa.
  • Enter your birthdate
If you are a visitor, then to check visa fine status with passport number enter these information:
  • Choose "Citizens of Certain Countries"
  • Enter Passport number
  • Select Passport type, such as a diplomatic, UN, or ordinary passport
  • Birth date
  • Current citizenship
After filling the information for resident or visitor, verify the Captcha box and click on "Search."
Your due overstay fee details will be displayed.

Methods for overstay fine payment online

To pay the overstay penalty one could use ICP and ICA. For the payment through ICP, you must follow the above mentioned steps of visa status. There you will be able to view the penalty amount of overstay, as well as the number of days you have been overstayed, if the information is accurate. For the penalty payment;
  • Click “Next” after choosing Relation with Sponsor from the drop-down option.
  • After selecting next, you will be required to provide your mobile number in order to receive the OTP.
  • Enter your payment information and submit the request.
  • You will receive the reference number along with the Fees Descriptions Totals with VAT.

The overstaying penalty in the UAE have been standardised by the ICP on October 14, 2022. The new regulations set the daily cost for overstaying a visit, tourist, or residency visa at AED 50.

UAE immigration fine payment online

Another way for payment is through ICA website. The steps are:
  • Go to ICA website
  • On your screen, click the virtual assistant in the bottom right corner.
  • There you will be requested to type your name. then from the provided options select “Eservices”
  • Later, choose "Apply for a new Service"
  • Select "Pay Fine," or type the service number.
  • Enter your unified number
  • Enter date of birth
  • Your violation's details, fees, and a payment link will all be displayed (if any).
  • To make a payment, click the link.
  • Review the data after being forwarded to the service submission screen, then click next.
  • Click the "Pay" button.

The ICA will notify you and provide your transaction number if the payment is successful.
For better travel and immigration purposes, UAE government is offering these services which ease the process. Overstaying fines and other visa penalties can be easily tracked and paid through online platforms like GDRFA, ICA, and ICP websites. 

These e-services make the entire process more customers friendly. The steps involved in each platform mentioned above must be carefully handled. It helps in knowing about the details of visa, penalties involved in overstaying and the amount of payment included.
